DNA replication requires and uses more than 30 specialized proteins to unwind, stabilize, copy, edit and rewind the original DNA message. However, the proteins responsible for copying the genetic information of the DNA are, in turn, produced from that same information. That is, protein production depends on DNA, but DNA production also depends on proteins.
